Hi, I'm Brie. I'm the CEO and creative director of TRU LUV, a Toronto-based studio that makes AI companions. Our companions are built on a framework of deepening friendship, not increasing challenge or complexity, to help you relax and grow. We think they are a key part of the future of interactivity. TRU LUV’s first companion, #SelfCare, is one of Apple’s Best of 2018 Trends of the Year selections.

I spent 2016-18 traveling to consult with games studios, speak at art and games and tech events, and discuss interactive media with artists, psychologists, social entrepreneurs, game developers, and people who find video games boring. During this time I had a column at and mentored students in interactive media at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. I continue to have a focus on supporting emerging game development communities in the Middle East and North Africa.

Previously I was a lead AI programmer at Ubisoft on the soft, ethereal game Child of Light and three Assassin's Creed games. I've worked with teams of up to 60 AI devs. If you've played Company of Heroes against the AI, you're playing against me and one of my colleagues.

I'm on TwitterInstagramFacebook, and LinkedIn. I've been featured in publications such as the GuardianMercedes Benz MagazineHuffington PostVentureBeat, and Châtelaine.
